Electronic versions of the VANT (PASE) journal

The journal "Problems of Atomic Science and Engineering" was established in 1970 by the Ministry of the Medium Machine Building of the USSR and included several series on various areas of atomic science and technology. Until 1989, articles on the problems of nuclear reactor physics were published in the issues "Physics and Methods for Calculating Nuclear Reactors" (since 1981, I.V. Kurchatov IAE) and "Dynamics of Nuclear Power Facilities" (Research Institute of Mechanics, NNSU) as part of the "Physics and Technology of Nuclear Reactors" series, as well as in the "Pulsed Reactors and Simple Critical Facilities" series (VNIIEF). Currently, the publication of these issues and series has been discontinued, and articles on the relevant topics are published in the journal "Problems of Atomic Science and Engineering. Series: Physics of Nuclear Reactors" (PASE.PhNR), established in 1989 by the National Research Center "Kurchatov Institute".

Certificate of registration of mass media is PI No. FS77-66041 (ПИ № ФС77-66041) dated 10.06.2016.

The international classifier is ISSN 0205-4671.

The subscription index is 32067 in the Catalog of subscription publications of the “Ural-Press” Agency.

The subject area of the journal is as follows:

• theory of nuclear reactors (NR), methods for calculating the NR physical characteristics, computer programs;
• experimental methods, instruments and facilities;
• computational-theoretical and experimental studies of the NR characteristics and nuclear power facilities (NPF);
• NR monitoring and control;
• nuclear safety;
• radiation protection;
• radiation safety;
• hydrodynamics and heat exchange in NR and NPF;
• studies of the characteristics of materials and their changes under the impact of irradiation;
• fuel cycle of nuclear power;
• general problems and individual aspects of the nuclear power development.

The journal is included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications of the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC), in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the degrees of candidate and doctor of sciences should be published: https://vak.minobrnauki.gov.ru/documents#tab=_tab:editions~ on domestic publications that are included in the international abstract databases and citation systems.

Electronic copies of the journal are located in the database of the Scientific Electronic Library of www.elibrary.ru and on the website of the NRC “Kurchatov Institute”.

Since 2011, articles from the journal have been published in English translation in special issues of the journal “Physics of Atomic Nuclei” (English version of the Russian journal “Nuclear Physics”), published by PLEIADES PUBLISHING Ltd (ISSN: 1063-7788 - printed version, ISSN: 1562-692X - electronic version).

The Journal "Physics of Atomic Nuclei", including issues with translated articles from the journal "Problems of Atomic Science and Engineering. Series: Physics of Nuclear Reactors”, has a digital article identifier (DOI) and is indexed in SCOPUS, Science Citation Index, INIS Atomindex and other databases.
